What is Tracfone DMFL?

Tracfone DMFL stands for Double Minutes for Life or Unlimited Double Minutes. If you have this on your phone any time you add minutes you will get twice as many minutes as stated on the card. It normally is not transferable to another phone. When they first came out these cards were $50. Now a lot of phones come with DMFL already installed. They are currently available for $20 at Tracfone.com. I do not recommend adding minutes to a phone that does not have DMFL.

How do I change my Phone number with Tracfone?

You will have to call Tracfone Customer Service if you want to change your phone number. Sometimes you will not be able to get a local number with your current phone. Where I live in Montana At&t and other GSM phones do not have very good coverage so Tracfone will not give you a local number unless you are using a CDMA phone that works on the Verizon Network.

Can I put a Tracfone SIM Card in an Unlocked GSM Phone?

No Tracfone SIM cards are different than all other companies because they lock to the phone they are activated in. Once the SIM card is activated you will not be able to move it to another Tracfone or any other phone.

No you can easily transfer you minutes and service time to a new phone. This new phone can be active or inactive. The phone you are transferring from must have both minutes and service time left.

I do not advise ever adding minutes on a Tracfone which does not have Dmfl installed on the phone. Adding two DMFL cards will not get quadruple minutes.
