Can I get the minutes from my Lost or Stolen Tracfone?

Yes, you may have to work at it and it will take some time but I have gotten it done. If you don’t have over 300 minutes it probably isn’t worth the work but here is how I did it.

  • I immediately called Tracfone and told them the phone number of my stolen phone.
  • I told her how many minutes I thought was left on the phone.
  • Then I wrote down the ESN (serial number) of my phone from the customer service representative.
  • Then she gave me a problem tracking number.
  • Without the phone they cannot tell for sure how many minutes are left on your phone.
  • They will not know for sure how many minutes are left for up to a month when they get all the billing back from the phone networks you have used your phone on.
  • You will have to pester them to get your minutes. Call them back after two weeks and give them all your numbers.

You should be able to get your minutes, it may take a little persistence.

If you are in GSM service area you can usually buy a phone with DMFL for $20. In CDMA service area you will normally have to purchase a DMFL card to get double minutes. I think that Net10 pays more for minutes usually on the Verizon CDMA network than on the AT&T or T-Mobile GSM networks.
